Let’s talk lights πŸ”¦πŸ’‘πŸš΄

Lights! The Highway Code says we should ride with them, they’re hugely beneficial in the dark and in the day (yes, in the day too!). But… there’s so much out there it becomes impossible to navigate. So how do you wade through the mountains of choice, how do you steer clear of poor product, and how do you make sure what you’re getting is right for your riding? This article aims to address that.  Lights to be seen with and lights to see with  This is a generalisation and there is crossover, but largely there are lights to be seen and lights to see with on a bicycle, as you might expect brightness does play into this.   ⚡ The Future of Cycling in York: Why E Bikes Are the Next Big Thing Electric bikes aren’t cheating, they’re changing everything. Whether it’s commuting across York, tackling the hills outside Bishopthorpe, or rediscovering the joy of riding, e bikes are reshaping how people move through the city. Rain, salt, and grit combine to turn even the most loved bike into a grinding mess if you don’t stay ahead of it. But with a little smart maintenance now, your bike will stay running beautifully right through to spring. Here’s how to give it the care it deserves, straight from the workstand. 🧼  1. Clean Like It Matters Salt is the enemy of every bolt, bearing, and cable. After any wet ride, rinse the frame, tyres, and drivetrain with warm water and a proper bike cleaner, not washing up liquid, which strips essential lubricants. Dry everything thoroughly with a microfibre cloth, paying attention to the bottom bracket, chainstays, and anywhere grime collects. To help prevent muck from sticking in the first place, finish with a ceramic based coating such as Gtechniq Bike Ceramic. It forms a slick, durable layer that repels dirt and moisture without u...
